About Jessica 

Hello! I am Jessica Taylor and I am currently a multimedia reporter in Boise, Idaho. I am originally from the Dallas area. I attended the University of Texas at Austin where I received a Bachelor of Journalism. I interned at several stations including Fox 7 Austin, KXAN, ATXN, LA 36 and ICTN before starting full-time at KIVI.

In my time at KIVI I have taken on two beats, education and medical/health care. As an education reporter, I have covered the overcrowding of local schools, the lottery system for schools of choice and the state’s efforts to add preschool. As a medical reporter I have covered missing medicare transportation rides, surprise billing, and countless stories on individuals with rare diagnoses.

As all stations across the country have, we have adapted in light of the coronavirus. I produced and anchored a 30 minute special about the power of telehealth during the pandemic. I have also covered many stories about how the coronavirus has affected businesses and individuals in Idaho.
